Fighting the urge to phone the one who hurt you, you finally give in and call, hoping that things will be the way they once were. Instead of relief, you are forced to endure the cold silence of your former lover on the other end, which is an agonizing experience. "Ordinary Day" attempts to describe this feeling as well as the desperation to feel normal again after having your heart broken, if even for just one day.
